The BS 25999 Workshop Report includes case studies, advice from certification bodies and the collected experience of delegates via a series of discussion exercises

Enthusiasm for working with the British Standard for Business Continuity Management, BS 25999, continues to grow and organisations with plans to deploy the standard are now looking for practical advice and to learn from the experience of early adopters. Making this type of knowledge available to the widest possible audience is the mission of the BCI SIGs and Workshops programme and the report from the recent workshop, ‘Is BS 25999 Working for You?’ captures and presents the in-depth experience of both presenters and participants alike.

The BS 25999 Workshop Report includes case studies, advice from certification bodies and the collected experience of delegates via a series of discussion exercises held throughout the workshop. Presentations such as ‘Continuity Nightmares’ and ‘Certification: Ten Steps’, as well as the check-lists developed by the delegates, provide specific advice on avoiding many of the pitfalls that await those wishing to pursue BS 25999 certification.

The workshop speakers included representatives from organisations such as BT, SunGard and TDG, representing three of the earliest end-users to gain BS 25999 certification; industry leaders Link Associates, having both won certification for themselves and worked with many clients to advise on implementation; and certification bodies, BSI and Moody’s.

The BS 25999 Workshop Report is available free of charge to BCI Members and Partners and can be downloaded from the Members Area of the BCI website. Non-members can purchase a copy of the report for £95.00 by contacting the BCI on +44 (0) 118 947 8215. www.thebci.org
